In early 2018 I left my job as a receptionist and set out to be a dog groomer. Working with dogs has always been a dream of mine. It was either work with dogs or become an artist, I figured grooming was a perfect mix of creativity and cuddles! 

Once I became a certified groomer, I wanted to be the best groomer I could be, so started learning about dog behaviour. Many of the dogs I was seeing were scared, and I disagreed with some of the common techniques used to "get the job done". 

From studies, I learned that there was a better way of grooming dogs, and many groomers across the World had started implementing Fear Free techniques to help the dog feel better about grooming. I became Fear Free certified, and I am currently the only groomer in the North East with this certification.  

I was hooked on learning about dogs, so I began volunteering at puppy classes in South Shields and Blaydon, shadowing some of the best trainers in the North East and learning practical skills to pair with my academic study. I knew that training was something I wanted to pursue. 

With time and experience, I was soon running puppy classes on my own, and not long after having 1:1 consultations! I did an intense 6 month training course to become a certified dog trainer, and have gone on to gain Specialist Certification in Canine Body Language, Scentwork, Reactivity and Puppies. 

I'm really passionate about working with dogs and children, as I have a 4 year old daughter and 5 year old bulldog and know the struggle of managing children around dogs. A busy family dynamic is something I can relate to!
