How To Calm A Spaniel

Today we went back to see Seamus the sprocker. If you don’t remember, Seamus barked whenever there was any excitement whatsoever.

He was on the verge of being rehomed!

  • He barked the ENTIRE walk while he was on lead!

  • He barked the ENTIRE time he was in the car!

Today we progressed an awful lot in 1 session.

We started by calming him down as usual for his walk, then we brought out the other family dog, which makes him go crazy! We then re-calmed him down and actually got them both on a walk, with SILENCE! This was the real test of all his training, and Seamus nailed it!

Next, we revisited the car. It’s only been a week since we started the plan for this, and as you can see by the video he is more than happy to relax in there without constant attention or feeding. His owner also was able to drive somewhere with silence for the first time ever!

Seamus and his owner have worked insanely hard here with a very extreme issue.

Well done everyone
