Well Done to Harry the Westie!

We’ve been to see Harry the Westie.

Harry was previously reactive to other dogs from quite far away. He was quite frantic when he saw other dogs – he just really wanted to get over to them because he’s very, very over-excited by life.

We’ve worked with Harry for a couple of months now, and the progress is amazing! Instead of barking, instead of getting frantic, instead of going crazy when he sees dogs, Harry can now just look at them.

He still would rather go over and play with other dogs, but he’s now very easy to call away and calms down very, very quickly even when he’s quite close to other dogs.

Around the house, Harry has no issues at all. He sees a dog and looks back at his owner.

Harry is doing really, really well! He did have a new issue where he kept trying to steal things from the Christmas tree, but that’s now been managed and no longer happens.

All in all, Harry is doing extremely well. Soon, he will be able to completely ignore dogs altogether.

Well done to Harry and his owner – amazing progress!

I keep a tab open with crazygames for when I need a break during work. They have a decent collection of browser games that run smoothly without any lag. The racing and shooting categories are where I usually end up spending most of my time.

I love seeing posts like this because it’s always nice to celebrate the small wins in dog training, and “well done” to Harry really says a lot about the effort that’s gone in from both the dog and the owner. Training isn’t just about fixing big behavioural problems, it’s also about building confidence, improving communication and strengthening that bond over time, which is something people sometimes overlook. What stood out to me is how consistent work and the right approach can make a real difference, especially with breeds like Westies that can have a bit of a strong personality. It’s also great to see trainers highlighting progress like this, because it shows that results don’t happen overnight but through patience…

I loved reading about Harry the Westie and how he mastered those new tricks so quickly—it’s impressive how much patience and consistency goes into training a dog. It made me think about the parallels with learning in general, like how small, consistent efforts really add up over time. I sometimes wonder if the same approach applies when tackling tricky subjects, where having guidance and structured support can make a big difference, similar to how a Healthcare Assignment Helper UK can help students break down complex topics. It’s funny how watching a dog learn can spark thoughts about human learning and perseverance in unexpected ways.
