Max the Aggressive Border Collie with a Bite History

Aggression towards humans - SORTED!

Yesterday we caught up with Max the border collie who is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve met.

Max is a dog that a lot of trainers would have refused to work with since he was showing aggression towards humans, dogs, and cars, and has a bite history.

What made this more difficult is that he also won’t take food outside.

Initially, we worked on his drive to work for food, but he was always too over the threshold as soon as he got out, so we took a different approach.

We used his crazy herding drive to counter condition his reactivity, essentially, seeing a person predicted the start of a herding game.

We combined this counter-conditioning game with desensitizing first cars coming and going in a car park and nailed both in one.

Now he is less stressed outside, he is also taking food!

We now need to sort dog reactivity and the awful pulling on the lead, which we started and he nailed almost instantly!

Absolutely love Max, he’s such an amazing, loving dog!
