Axl the #akita

Earlier this week, we had our first appointment with Axl the #akita

This little cutie has a problem mouthing when he gets over-excited.

Puppies learn about their environment and play using their mouths. It’s up to us to teach them what’s appropriate and what isn’t.

For Axl, we started to teach him that teeth touching humans weren’t fun, and potentially cost him access to what he wants, while bringing a toy and playing tug is much more fun.

He is also showing early signs of resource guarding, so we started tackling that too.
