Today was all about the big dogs for our trainer Jaake.
First up was Florence (1 year German Shepherd). We have been working with Florence for a while now. Florence and her owner have developed a fantastic relationship since we have been working with them. Florence has learned several obedience behaviours over the last few months and she particularly enjoyed showing off her rapid recall today. We also worked on Florence’s over-excitement around other dogs which is improving all the time.
Jaake then headed over to Jarrow to have his last session with Luna, a young Rottweiler. Luna is an awesome dog and a pleasure to be around. We started working with Luna to resolve pulling on the lead and jumping up at strangers. In our first session, Luna was pulling like a train and had absolutely zero connection with her owner when outside. This was all quickly resolved and Luna’s due to Luna’s owner being committed to training. For our last session, we worked on recall and looked at giving Luna a nice enriching walk.
You have all been a pleasure to work with.
Finally, for the day, Jaake was in Bedlington to meet Negroni (18-month-old Rottweiler) and his family for their first session.
You will have to go a long way to meet a bigger Rottweiler than Negroni but despite his size, he is a lovely friendly dog.
Negroni though gets frustrated very easily when he can’t say hello to other dogs which we will be working on over the coming months.
