This energetic pup was nipping at the children, jumping up, and grabbing anything he could. His behavior was getting out of control and leaving bad marks on the kids.
His owners had tried various methods to calm him down, but nothing was working so they reached out to us for help.
During our first session, we taught Jax's owners some effective techniques to manage his behavior and gave the kids appropriate things to do with him. We also worked on teaching him some basic obedience, like “bed” and “heel” as well as boosted enrichment and taught some techniques to stop the behaviours once they started.
There's always a lot of work involved in training a dog, but Jax's owners are now reaping the benefits of their hard work. We've started working with Jax on his excitement around people and other dogs. Today, we walked through The Nook with loads of people around and Jax didn't jump at a single person. He looked at the odd person, but quickly refocused on his owner.
Well done, Jax, and well done to his owner. You are all stars. We're so proud of Jax's progress and can't wait to see him continue to thrive.
