Denise was back to see Max and Ben in the Newfoundlands in Morpeth

Updated: Apr 13, 2023

Max and Ben's owners rescued the boys together and as they've been getting comfortable in their new setting a few issues were found. They would chase the cats, were scared of all sorts of random out-the-blue noises, and would pull on the lead. We focused on the cats and impulse control in the first session by managing the environment, exposure training for both the cats and the dogs, and noises.

In this session, we used proximity games to train the boys a With Me cue to stay close to their owners and when they can and can't say hi to other dogs.

We also introduced a pattern game for the boys to focus on to introduce new changes in the environment in a way they can process what's going on but not fixating on what's going on.

Both Max & Ben (and both their owners) have done fantastic and have picked up everything really quickly. Absolutely love these 2 as they are just so affectionate.

Well done guys!
