Dogs Home Schooling

In a time where one of the recent buzz words is “homeschooling”, it surprises me still how people are so unkeen for online training.

Primary school, high school, college, and university students are all learning from home; myself included - so why shouldn’t our dogs? We’ve tried to work out why and put together a list of pros and cons. Here goes...

Pro’s

• you and your dog are still learning together and setting up good habits from the beginning

• you don’t get cold being outside training

• you can train in your pjs - always a bonus

• you can watch training tutorials as many times as it takes to understand something

• you can train with expert guidance more than once a week

• you save petrol because you don’t need to drive anywhere!

• you save money because online training is cheaper

• you don’t need to wait until your puppy is fully vaccinated

• you don’t have to talk to people you don’t like

• you can still feel part of a safe and understanding community

• you can work through at a pace you feel comfortable at

• you won’t catch Covid

Con’s

• your dog can’t play with other dogs (which we don’t encourage in class anyway, but I had to think of something in order to present a fair, balanced and non-bias argument!)
