I (Jaake) have been over to see Luna the Labrador for her 4th session.

It is always nice to hear the phrase “She is like a different dog” when I ask how a dog has been getting on.

Luna first attended our puppy classes and we were called in because Luna had started to struggle in a number of ways. The biggest issue was she was biting the female owner quite severely and they couldn’t figure out why, often breaking the skin and leaving bruises. Luna was also stealing items, counter surfing, starting to show signs of resource guarding, and barking at any noise she hears outside when in the home.

Obviously, Luna isn’t a different dog, she is just one that is now better understood and her needs are being better met. We have worked on relationship building, reducing frustration, reduction in trigger stacking, increase in enrichment, and less pressure on Luna overall.

Luna hasn’t bitten now for a number of weeks, no longer counter surfing, stealing items and today she was happily dropping her ball in my hand. The barking is the next thing we will be working on.

Well done to Luna and her family. You are doing amazing!
