The 2 Cocker Toodles

This week Nathan also traveled to Sunderland for his first lesson with two lovely cockertoodles Florence and Hattie.

Florence and Hattie are happy and funny little pups, but they bark a lot at other dogs when outside and they’re also nervous about people coming into the house. There's also a little bit of resource guarding when stressed.

The owner has already worked with another trainer but unfortunately got nowhere.

During the lesson, we introduced some foundations like confidence-building activities and introduced recall, and marker words as well. We’ve also looked at some exercises to stop the barking as one of the pups used to bark continuously if the owner stopped to chat to someone whilst out and about. We took Florence and Hattie out and started working with them and they didn’t even bark at the dog across the road which they usually would, well-done girls

As both Florence and Hattie did so well in the first lesson, the plan for the next one is to take them out and work around other dogs a lot more.

A big well done to the owner who is very dedicated to getting help.
